Our lotion is actually alcohol-free! We do not use solvent alcohol or ethanol (ethyl alcohol), which you typically find in many skincare products. Instead we use fatty alcohols (derived from coconut or sustainable palm), which are used as emollients and thickeners - they are not irritating and can be very beneficial for your skin. As described in FDA regulation: ”Cosmetic products, including those labeled ‘alcohol free,’ may contain other alcohols, such as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, or lanolin alcohol. These are known as fatty alcohols, and their effects on the skin are quite different from those of ethyl alcohol.”

We formulated Dewy Body Lotion with the intention of it being like a face cream for your body. Not too greasy or watery, it was made to hydrate your skin and is balanced at the optimal body pH. If you want to use if on your face, try it in a small area at first, as the skin on your face may react to products differently (and can even have a different pH) than the skin on your body.

Yes! This vitamin contains a reduced form of folate, 5-MTHF, that people with and without a MTHFR gene mutation can benefit from. MTHFR (also known as methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) is an enzyme that breaks down the amino acids folate and homocysteine. The release of supplements within the stomach is known to cause nausea. To bypass this effect, we use a Delayed Response capsule, which allows the supplement to release much later than with a normal capsule.
